StrangeQuiz is published by an individual on a personal, non-professional basis. To benefit from the public anonymity provided under Article 1-1, II of the French LCEN, the publisher must provide the required identification details to the hosting provider.

Design and operation

StrangeQuiz is a personal quiz project, free to use and without advertising at launch.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the website structure, editorial text, original quizzes, proprietary graphics and identity are protected by applicable rights. Third-party trademarks, images, GIFs, videos or other content remain the property of their respective owners and are used subject to the applicable rights or licences.

Data processed and purposes

• Operation and security: Cloudflare may process technical information required to deliver and secure requests, including IP addresses and connection data. Purpose: deliver and protect the website. Legal basis: legitimate interest in ensuring service availability and security.
• Internal audience measurement, only after consent: random session identifier, quiz and version identifiers, event (view, start, completion, share or recommendation), language, referring domain and, where relevant, result key. Strange Quiz does not store IP addresses in this analytics table. Purpose: understand quiz usage and improve the service. Legal basis: consent.
• Local device storage: quiz progress, completed quiz history and consent preference. These items stay in the browser and are not sent to the server merely because they are stored locally.

Retention periods

• Quiz progress: up to 7 days after the last update.
• Local result history: until deleted by the user or browser data is cleared.
• Consent choice: 6 months, after which the choice is requested again.
• Raw audience events: up to 30 days; they are then deleted after statistical aggregation.

Processors and recipients

Data is accessible only as necessary to the StrangeQuiz publisher and the technical providers operating the service. Cloudflare provides website delivery and security. Supabase provides the application database and storage; the main StrangeQuiz project is hosted in the eu-west-3 region (Paris, France).

Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States and governs international data transfers through its Data Processing Addendum and applicable Standard Contractual Clauses. Supabase acts as a processor for project data under its Data Processing Addendum.

Accounts, forms and advertising

Strange Quiz currently offers no user account, newsletter or form directly collecting personal data on the public site. No advertising tracker is currently enabled. If a new purpose requiring consent is added (for example advertising or a third-party service), the consent mechanism must be updated and a new choice requested before activation.

Quiz results

Results are calculated automatically from the answers provided. They are for entertainment and editorial purposes and do not produce legal or similarly significant effects on the user.

Your rights

Depending on the processing concerned, you may request access, rectification, erasure or restriction of your data, object to certain processing, exercise data portability where applicable and withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
